Things software developer should do to increase productivity
Following are the list of tips every software developer can do to increase productivity:
1. Keep note of Daily Tasks to be done:
When you reach office and start your computer, first thing to do after checking your emails is to Keep note of tasks to be done today and align it based on it's priority.
2. Divide the tasks in your daily productive hours
When tasks to be done today are finalized, divide the tasks in your actual productive hours based on its time required to do that tasks and number of sub tasks involved in that main task.
3. Try to spend maximum hours of time for actual productivity
When working in office, try to spend maximum hours in development to improve your productivity. Let's consider you are working in 9 hours shift and 8 hours is your working hours, then try to spend at least 6 hours as your productive hours. When talking about productive 6 hours, it should not involve any small breaks.
4. Have the good Knowledge of the technology that you are working on
Developing a software requires good knowledge of the technology that software is going to built on. When the actual development starts, you are supposed to complete the development within the timeline decided by the task creator. Your maximum time should be spent on actual work of the tasks and not on understanding the technology. You should have understanding or knowledge of the project such as architecture of the project, flow of data before any development tasks getting assigned to you, so that you will spend your maximum hours in development.
5. Keep Distractions away while developing code
When you are actually working on developing a software, it is mandatory to give your 100% focus on the development. You should keep all types of distractions away to complete your tasks on time. If you have issues with focusing, you can take help of focus-boosting music, which you can hear while working on a task. You can do 5 minute meditation every morning to increase your focus. When working on individual task, divide it in multiple tasks and work on each sub tasks one by one, when you complete first sub task you will feel self confidence and you will then quickly jump to second sub tasks. Turn off from all social networks, block sites which distracts you to help you increase your focus on development.
